My Journey
It all started with colouring books. I loved my colouring books as a small child. I remember carefully choosing each colour and then shading in each section as perfectly as I could. Clearly I took it very seriously. Apparently I was very proud of my skills because I would sign the bottom of the page with “Art by Hailly”. This made my grandmother chuckle. I still fondly look back at how relaxing and satisfying it was to bring those colouring books to life.
The next chapter of my journey began in school. I always remember loving Art class! In high school it became a relaxing escape. I simply put in my headphones and went to work. At times we would display certain projects, but whenever someone showed interest in buying one of my pieces, I was hesitant to sell it. I was terrified at the thought of losing the joy I found in the creative process. It took many years for me to warm up to the idea of selling my art.
After graduating, I continued to paint for myself. I also painted pieces for others, but only as gifts for close friends and family.
Fast forward to now.. I have finally warmed up to the idea of having a business and painting for others. This has been an exciting change!
I still create a few pieces for myself but the bulk of my work is done for others. I look forward to creating more art that hopefully brings joy to you.
